What we record when you search

Every search is logged: the address you typed, the parcel it matched, the city and ZIP, whether it worked, how long it took, and the estimate that came back. Alongside it we keep the coarse location your browser reports (city, region, country), your device, browser and operating system, which site sent you, and which language you were reading.

We do not store your IP address anywhere. Guests are grouped by a short one-way hash of the IP and browser string — enough to tell one browser from another, useless for anything else.

The searches themselves are what the tool is for, and the log is how we see which counties answer, what falls over, and where people give up.

Your account

If you sign in we keep your email address and a record of the sign-in links sent to it. That is the whole account: no password, no profile, nothing else asked for.

Payment

Card details are turned into a single-use token by Square inside your own browser. The card number never touches our server and we could not store it if we wanted to. Square takes the money and Square is who a refund goes back through.

We keep the payment reference, the amount and the date, so we know your access is paid for.

The property data itself

Owner names, sale prices, permits and assessments come from county property appraisers and city permit systems. That is public record, published by the counties, not collected by us. If a record about you is wrong, the county that publishes it is the only place it can be corrected.

Who else sees it

Neon hosts the database, Vercel hosts and serves the application, Resend sends the sign-in links and reports, Square handles payment. Vercel Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifiers. Google Analytics is loaded only if you accept the cookie notice — until then the script is not even downloaded, and if you never answer the notice, nothing loads and we count nothing.

Nothing is sold, rented or traded, and nobody receives your details for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Search logs are kept while they are useful for running the service. Account records are kept until you ask us to delete them. Payment records stay as long as the tax rules require. Measurement data expires within fourteen months.

Your rights

Write to us and you may ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. No reason needed, no charge. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
